Fast Forward to Fashion: Fall/Winter Styles for 2017

This year, Fashion Week for women is going down September 7th to the 14th in New York City. That's nice and all. I'm more interested in what the fellas will be cherry picking from the designer collections for Men's fashion. It will take place January 13th to the 16th 2018 in Milan. Let’s get right into what's trending, what’s hot, and what to look for.

Fendi Fall/Winter 2017-2018

How do you feel about animal print? It's not just made for comforters and women's robes anymore. This Fall/Winter, there is a push for the animal. Leopard to be more exact. Fendi is using toned down leopard motifs as the basis of outerwear and accessories in their fashion line.

Jil Sander, Fall/Winter 2017-2018

What's cooler than leather? More leather of course. Designer Jil Sander is giving us a duo of the leather jacket paired with leather pants or top to round out this look.

Moschino, Fall/Winter 2017-2018

The only thing more rugged than leather would have to be army fatigue. We see this year Moschino coupling military pieces with bold accents like colorful striped jackets for a Rock and Roll Military style. It seems as if the runway is going to look a bit different and there will be no male jumpsuits here!

MSGM Fall/Winter 2017-2018

In addition to animals and rock and roll, there will be more subtle styles coming out as well. The Prep look is coming back. Let's dig out our varsity sweaters. MSGM is pairing these striped classic sweaters with print pants to create a comfortable look that is resurfacing with a fresh face.

Armani Fall/Winter 2017-2018

We will also see grey coming down the pike. Not 50 shades of it, just one. Giorgio Armani is making a statement with the monochromatic grey suit and accessories for 2018.

Versace, Fall/Winter 2017-2018

Versace could not be left out of the mix and is bringing a reinvented look to the classic Goth style. The pairing of boots, slouchy pants, and printed tees all pulled from the standard black palette make the Goth guy something to notice for Fall/Winter 2018.

Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2017-2018

A couple of my favorite trends from the Fall/Winter collection would be the Alexander McQueen collection of Peacocking wear. When the term "peacocking" is used in the industry it refers to the most extreme and over the top combinations to catch the eye. McQueen takes it a step further by using motifs and patterns that resemble actual peacock feathers.

Ports 1961 Fall/Winter 2017-2018 Neil Barrett Fall/Winter 2017-2018

I'm also a fan of what designers like Ports 1961 are doing in the delivery of political statements and messages through clever patterns and detailing in their pieces. Neil Barrett gives us guys a break from the standard options that we have for bottoms. He is rolling out a series of modern Rock style trousers with bold colors. I think I have found my new favorite "cool pants".

If I were a betting guy, I'd wager that someone you know will be rocking something similar to one of these fashions in the next few months. Summer is ending and these styles along with many are debuting for Fall/Winter. They are sure to put any average Joe right in the ranks of fashion forward. Be sure to look out for the Milan looks to filter locally very soon!
